Who we are

Dr. Janssen

A twenty-five year Washington resident, Dr. Janssen has been practicing family dentistry for more than ten years. She graduated with a BA in zoology from Miami University of Ohio in 1984. After receiving her Doctorate in General Dentistry and graduating with high honors from the University of Minnesota dental school, she was recruited to participate in a general practice residency at a Minneapolis head and neck trauma center. Fortunately the types of procedures she performed there are rarely called upon in daily family dentistry! Nevertheless, it broadened her experience base, which along with the three study groups that she continues to participate in and the hundreds of annual hours of continuing education, give her the technical expertise needed to treat you and your family. Some of the associations Dr. Janssen affiliates with are...
  • Academy of General Dentistry
  • The American Dental Association
  • The Washington State Dental Association
  • The Thurston County Dental Society
  • Dental Collegium of Tacoma
  • Summit Study Group of Seattle
  • Dr. Dave Matthews Study Group
Dr. Janssen and her husband Ken live in Olympia and are the proud parents of two children Taeus and Sophia.

Hygienists

Our registered dental hygienists are both graduates of Pierce College Dental Hygiene and have obtained a license to practice dental hygiene in the State of Washington. Judy and Julie perform multiple functions within the practice, including periodontal therapy (cleanings), administer local anesthetic (numbing) and perform restorative dentistry (fillings) with Dr. Janssen. With 20 years experience each they pride themselves in providing patients with the educational tools needed to maintain a healthy smile. As dental professionals they strive to stay current with advances in technology by taking advantage of continuing educational courses yearly.

"Providing people with the highest quality of care is always my goal. To do that, I not only need to have the dental knowledge and skills, but also the ability to recognize that each patient has individual needs, concerns and capabilities that deserve respect and understanding."
- Julie

"Over the years I have come to understand the practice of dentistry as taking care of the whole person, not just their teeth. I want people to receive the best care possible and this means taking into consideration their personal needs when I am providing them with dental treatment as well as helping them to be as comfortable as possible while in our office."
-Judy
