Scheduling and Treatment Coordinator
After beginning my career in the dental field in 1996 and completing a dental management course through The Schuster Center in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1998. I joined Janssen Dental in 2006.
My primary focus and role is managing the daily schedules for Dr. Janssen and two dental hygienists. I am happy to welcome every patient, it is important to me that our patients feel comfortable. I coordinate and facilitate future appointments and referrals to specialists and answer any questions a patient may have regarding their future visits. Developing a trustworthy, friendly and professional relationship with each of our wonderful patients is something I strive for.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am married with two amazing daughters, both of whom live on their own now, working and attending college. I love cooking, wine tasting, my dog, reading, movies, the outdoors, staying active, music, comedy, traveling, boating, and I look forward to all the seasons we get to experience here in Washington.
I've been working in the field of dentistry since 1990, after graduating from Bates Technical College in 1990, and joined the team at Janssen Dental in 2011. Although I started out as a chairside Assistant, I quickly found a lifetime career on the administrative side of the dental practice. My good clinical knowledge of dentistry coupled with many years of insurance and financial experience, allow me to assist you with your insurance and financial concerns .
At Janssen Dental we seek to deliver the highest quality care available to our patients, still stay within their means, and interpret the often complex rules of their insurance coverage. I have the knowledge and tools to creatively navigate the financial needs of every patient. Affordability is what I strive to make avaliable to you and your family!
With my daughter now grown and out of the house I enjoy cooking, travelling, wine tastings, and working on home improvement projects. I also enjoy creative pursuits such as beading and often find myself going to concerts and sporting events - especially Tacoma Rainiers games.
My dental career began in 1989 after I earned my associate degree in dental hygiene from Pierce College in Steilacoom. I began working at Janssen Dental in 2001, and now enjoy working one on one with patients to help them achieve good oral health. I also value the opportunity to educate our patients about how their teeth are a part of their whole body, and are essential for good overall health.
It is wonderful to work alongside the rest of the staff to create an environment that our patients can enjoy and feel comfortable in. We are all quality-oriented people who have the same goal of providing patients with the best care available. We laugh often, are compassionate, and make a difference in others’ lives.
After moving from Tacoma to Olympia, I married my husband Greg in 1990. We have two dogs, Dax and Dally. Greg and I are volunteers in a Bible education program with The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. My favorite hobby is cooking, an art I learned from my Mom that always brings a smile to my face!
I graduated from Timberline High School in 1986. I completed the course in dental hygiene at Pierce College in Steilacoom and began my career in dental care in 1989. I really enjoy working with people, getting to know them, and having the opportunity to improve their oral health. As I care for our patients, I ask about their lifestyle and habits. This not only forms a bond between us, but allows me to identify areas where they can make positive changes to improve their oral health. I perform preventive and maintenance oral therapy, administer anesthetics, and teach oral hygiene education to each patient in my care.
I have a wonderful spouse and a fabulous Golden Retriever. I love the outdoors, my family (mom, dad, six sisters, and a brother), coffee, and a good microbre
Lead Dental Assistant
I graduated from Tumwater High School with honors. Shortly thereafter, in 1990, I completed and graduated from the SPSCC Certified Dental Assistant Program. I've served on the South Puget Sound Dental Assisting's Board of Directors for several years. I strive to give each patient the best quality care I possibly can.
I am convinced that good communication and listening creates a framework for the positive relationships we have with our patients. I value the caring, energetic and supportive dental team we have in this at Janssen Dental. I worked for 21 years for another dental practice before joining Dr. Janssen and our amazing team.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, camping and backpacking, getting out for a long hike and enjoying nature, as well as country dancing.
Certified Dental Assistant
On the very same week in 1998, I turned 18 and graduated from both Bethel High School and the Clover Park Technical College Dental Assisting program. I began working with Janssen Dental the next year, and have had the great advantage of having Dr. Janssen train me herself. I worked as her lead assistant until 2007, when I had my third baby and decided to stay home full time with them. In 2016, with the kids a bit older, I felt ready to return to work in dentistry There is absolutely no one I would rather work with than Dr. Janssen and I found that there was a spot for me with the team at Janssen Dental!
I cherish the relationships with my patients and co-workers over the years. I cherish the relationships built, both with co-workes and my patients. I relish making dentistry easier with extra love and care to my patients daily and providing such quality dentistry everyday!
I am blessed with an amazing husband and 3 beautiful children that are my pride and joy in life. We spend a lot of time taking our kids to sports, rodeos and cow cutting events. We also enjoy spending time at our new home with dogs and horses.
