Scheduling and Treatment Coordinator
After beginning my career in the dental field in 1996 and completing a dental management course through The Schuster Center in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1998. I joined Janssen Dental in 2006.
My primary focus and role is managing the daily schedules for Dr. Janssen and two dental hygienists. I am happy to welcome every patient with a warm smile, it is important to me that our patients feel comfortable. I coordinate and facilitate future appointments and referrals to specialists and answer any questions patients may have regarding their future visits. Developing a trustworthy, friendly and professional relationship with our wonderful patients is something I strive for.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am married, have two amazing daughters, one is in High school and my oldest has moved out, works and attends college. I love cooking, wine tasting, my dog, reading, movies, the outdoors, staying active, music, comedy, traveling, boating, and I look forward to all the seasons we get to experience here in Washington.
I have enjoyed working in the field of dentistry after graduating from Bates Technical College in 1990. I joined the team at Janssen Dental in 2011. After starting out as a dental assistant, I quickly found what has become a lifetime career in the administrative side of the dental practice. My clinical knowledge of dentistry, coupled with many years of insurance and financial experience, helps me to assist patients in interpreting their dental insurance benefits, as well as helping them to find ways to afford their dental care. At Janssen Dental, we work as a team for our patients and their optimal dental health. Finances should not be a burdensome obstacle that prevents a beautiful and healthy smile. I will do my very best to help patients optimize their dental insurance benefits as well as make it affordable.
During my time away from the office I enjoy cooking, wine tasting, and time with family and friends. I have a sweet and beautiful teenaged daughter as well as two dogs. My daughter and I enjoy travelling, camping, Tacoma Rainiers baseball games, watching Seahawks games, and hosting family game nights with our extended family.
My dental career began in 1989 after I earned my associates degree in dental hygiene from Pierce College in Steilacoom. I began working at Janssen Dental in 2001, and now enjoy working one on one with patients to help them achieve good oral health. I also value the opportunity to educate our patients about how their teeth are a part of their whole body, and are essential for good overall health.
It is wonderful to work alongside the rest of the staff to create an environment that our patients can enjoy and feel comfortable in. We are all quality-oriented people who have the same goal of providing patients with the best care available. We laugh often, are compassionate, and make a difference in others’ lives.
After moving from Tacoma to Olympia, I married my husband Greg in 1990. We have two dogs, Dax and Dally, and two cats, Pedro and Olivia. Greg and I are volunteers in a Bible education program with The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. My favorite hobby is cooking, an art I learned from my Mom that always brings a smile to my face!
I graduated from Timberline High School in 1986. I completed the course in dental hygiene at Pierce College in Steilacoom and began my career in dental care in 1989. I really enjoy working with people, getting to know them, and having the opportunity to improve their oral health. As I care for our patients, I ask about their lifestyle and habits. This not only forms a bond between us, but allows me to identify areas where they can make positive changes to improve their oral health. I perform preventive and maintenance oral therapy, administer anesthetics, and teach oral hygiene education to each patient in my care.
I have a wonderful spouse and a fabulous Golden Retriever. I love the outdoors, my family (mom, dad, six sisters, and a brother), coffee, and a good microbrew.
Lead Dental Assistant
I graduated from Tumwater high School with honors. Shortly there after I completed and graduated from SPSCC Certified Dental Assistant Program in 1990. I've served on the South Puget Sound Dental Assisting Board of Directors for several years. I strive to give each patient the best quality care possible.
I feel that good communication and listening creates a positive relationship with our patients. I value the caring, energetic and supportive dental team we have in this office. I worked for 21 years for another dental practice before joining this amazing team at Janssen Dental. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
Certified Dental Assistant
I began my dental career in 2012 as a dental treatment coordinator, and learned about dental terminology, presenting treatment plans to patients, submitting dental insurance claims, and other front-office responsibilities. I quickly realized that the clinical side of the dental office was where I ultimately wanted to be. After completing the South Puget Sound Community College’s dental assisting program in July 2013, I began my clinical dental career. I joined Janssen Dental in July 2014.
Getting to meet new people and educating them about their oral health is my favorite part of my job. I enjoy the challenges that are presented to me with each patient. Every smile is unique, and these differences are what make my job interesting. Dr. Janssen is a wonderful doctor to work for. She is kind and generous. From the day I began work here at Janssen Dental I have felt appreciated as a member of the team. It is a very positive atmosphere to work in on a daily basis.
Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband and our two amazing sons. We love traveling in our travel trailer and taking weekend excursions whenever we can. We love going to the beach or the mountains, and enjoy hiking, biking, and all outdoor activities!
Certified Dental Assistant
I began working in the dental field in 1983 after attending Olympic Technical College’s Dental Assisting Program. I enjoy helping our patients achieve good dental health and well being, and love getting to know each of them on a personal level. As one of Dr. Janssen’s Dental Assistants, I work alongside her while she performs dental procedures and see that she has everything needed. I also provide assistance to the patient during their visit in our office, making sure they have a positive experience while here. I focus on the needs of my patient, making sure they are relaxed and comfortable, while keeping them updated on the progress of the appointment.
My husband and I live in Lacey and we have a grown daughter. When I’m not at work I enjoy camping with family and friends, snowshoeing, my flowers, and antiquing.
